I've been following yogi Chelsea Korus for a while now and on top of her contagious laugh and positive attitude, I love her commitment to making improvements to our environment through awareness and advocacy. She recently teamed up with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii during Wanderlust Hawaii to do a beach clean up, and they are back at it this week with the #awakeafearthchallenge. This is a great an opportunity to shed light on how much plastic each of us uses on a daily basis and take ownership by finding ways to eliminate or reduce plastic consumption where possible. I'm participating in this challenge and will be sharing my results and solutions to reduce plastic use on the blog and on Instagram @aconsciousremedy. Follow along and join in!
Tuesday and Wednesday:
Make no changes to your existing lifestyle. Keep track of all your plastic use and try to keep any plastic waste that you create. Be honest with yourself to allow for major improvements. If you keep your plastic, hold it on the side so we can compare on Saturday.
Thursday and Friday:
We make changes by eliminating or reducing our uses of plastic where possible while still tracking the plastic we use and keeping the plastic waste created if possible.
We compare and share the results!! Then try to figure out what else we can do.
We do community service for Earth Day. I'll be cleaning up trash around our neighborhood around Platt Park and Pearl Street!
